These top eBook readers, between the three of them can do it all.  Download eBooks, hit up the latest books to read, or browse each seamless screen on ePaper; these eBook readers are the total package.  Whether you're looking to buy or just doing some research, you'll find something you'll love about eReaders.

One of These Is Not Like The Other: But Here's What They Have In Common

Titles Available: The Nook, Amazon Kindle, and Sony eReader can deliver over 1 MILLION titles straight to your fingertips. The vast library that you have access to contains 95% of the New York Times Best Seller List, giving you the total freedom to read what you want, when you want it exclusively in English except for the Sony eReader.

Dictionary: The Sony eReader can give your selections in several Dictionary styles in 10 different languages including English. The Nook downloads via the Nook Store, Kindle-Kindle Store, and Sony eReader- eReader store By Sony.

Storage: Both the Nook and Sony eReader can store 2GB worth of Book data. That boils down to roughly 1500 eBooks. That's more than my entire family's book collection combined. The Kindle one-ups the Nook and Sony eReader in this category, storing 4GB of data, or 3500 eBooks. The Nook and the Sony eReader redeem themselves though with the ability for expandable storage by means of a micro SD card, giving them the upperhand, but with added purchases. The Kindle does NOT have the option to upgrade its memory.

So What's The Difference?

Display: The Nook has an ePaper display of 6 inches, plus a 3.5 inch LCD screen, with lower contrast ratios. Sony's eReader boasts the second largest screen with 7 inches of ePaper, with higher contrast ratios.  The Kindle wins in this department though with its 6 inch screen in the regular Kindle but a whopping 9.7 inches on the DX version!

Navigation: Nooks 3.5 inch display uses touch screen technology to browse seamlessly between pages, along with the Sony eReader.  They both swap pages with the use of touchscreen navigations.  The Kindle utilizes a 5-way controller, allowing you to flip through that latest novel with a flick of the finger.  It does not support touchscreen technology.

Wireless: Both the Kindle and the Nook are wi-fi and free 3g capable, depending on which version you purchase.  Wi-Fi allows you to download content and eBooks via a wireless connection.  A 3G edition enables you to download eBooks while on the go, leeching wireless cellular phone signals.  The Sony eReader Daily Edition is capable of performing both, but the Pocket Edition can only access its download store via USB connection to a computer.

Battery Life: The Nook lacks in this department, allowing a fully charged battery to last up to 7 days with the wireless ability on and up to 10 days when the wireless function is turned off.  The Sony eReader can up to 22 days with the wireless feature on!  The winner of this department is the Kindle.  The Kindle can last up to an entire month with the wireless function kept off, but goes up to 3 weeks with the function turned on.

Additional Features

Lend-Me: One great feature the Nook has that no other eReader can duplicate is the Lend-Me feature.  This feature enables the person who downloaded their content to "lend" their content to a friend using a Nook.  This is a great feature for someone in a book club or someone whose friends are avid readers, with a little lacking in the bank.  The only downfall is that person who lent the eBook cannot read it until it is returned to them.  The loaner period lasts 14 days.  Not bad.  That's about the time it takes me to read a book, unless its good.  Then it's shorter.

Free Hand Note-Taking: With the Sony eReader, both daily and pocket editions, the user can scribble down notes, highlight passages, and make notations in the margins and in text using the included stylus.  This is especially helpful for favorite lines, phrases, and keeping track of your place on a page if you have to step away.

Wireless Coverage: The Kindle allows people to access free 3g service in over 100 countries.  Currently the Nook and the Sony eReader only allow it in the the prospective countries of purchase, restricting UK users to UK coverage and so on and so forth.

Like I Said...

Each one has great features for everyone.  The less features, the less money you're going to have to fork over.  So remember, don't overspend for features you know you're not going to use.

I've always wondered about Sony's offerings in the e-reader category - thanks for posting and great work! I recently decided to go with a kindle fire after reading a review on it at http://topebookreaders.org and I'm loving it so far.
